Lena Hudson is a writer, director, and actor based in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Her most recent short film DADDY’S GIRL, premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, went on to screen at SXSW, and won Best Comedy at the San Diego International Shortsfest. It premiered online as a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere and was also featured on Short of the Week.
Lena was a Sundance Episodic Lab fellow with Fantasia For You, which she co-created, the series went on to be developed through WBTV and Tall Baby Productions. Her films have screened at Seattle International Film Festival, Aspen Shortsfest, Palm Springs Shortfest, and Nashville Film Festival, among others, and have been featured online via Short of the Week and NoBudge. She also produced the upcoming feature film, Ghostwritten, starring Jay Duplass, which has its world premiere at the 2022 Dances with Films Festival.
Her other work includes the solo clown cabaret, SHOWWOMANSHIP, which has played to sold out crowds across New York and was developed with director Jess Chayes through the arts incubator Fresh Ground Pepper.
As an actor she has developed work with Ars Nova, Joe's Pub, Clubbed Thumb, New Georges, Fresh Ground Pepper, La MaMa and Theatre Reconstruction Ensemble, among others. She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch.
